TROOP 895 RE REGISTRATION NOW DUE
All scout families should have received their yearly registration letter. Included is a copy of the Personal Data form for each scout. We ask that you return your dues check ($85) along with any Health Forms and corrections/additions to the Personal Data form before October 20. Timely action on this will keep our records up to date and enable us to recharter (a yearly task) more quickly. See the letter for further information and instructions.
NEW TROOP 895 CLASS B T-SHIRTS
OCTOBER 17-19th: JAMBOREE ON THE AIR-JAMBOREE ON THE INTERNET (JOTA-JOTI):
Troop 895 will be participating in the 2014 JOTA-JOTI this weekend. It is the largest Scouting event in the world with nearly a million Scouts participating from more than 160 countries. You do not need a radio license to participate, but you can earn your radio merit badge and gain credit for attending an international jamboree for your Citizenship in the World Merit Badge requirements. Registration is still open. If interested bring signed form attached to tonight’s meeting. OCTOBER 24 - 26: Fall Camping - Need location idea and scout leader
OCTOBER 27: Fall Court of Honor - Scouts and their families are welcome to join the Troop meeting as we recognize the many accomplishments the scouts have achieved over the summer and at the start of this new scout year.
NOVEMBER 7 - 9: NCAC Hike-o-ree
Annual backpacking is limited to Scouts that are 13 years old or older by January 1, 2015. It is also highly recommended to all Philmont participants. Space is limited and preference will be given to those that have signed up to attend Philmont in 2015. See attached flyer for additional information.
NOVEMBER 21 – 23: ORIENTEERING CAMPING TRIP PRINCE WILLIAM FOREST.
Camping will focus on Trail to First Class orienteering and map and compass requirements and may include radio location finding challenge. Flyer to be issued soon. SPL is Andrew Wong
JANUARY 16-19 2015 MERIT BADGE WEEKEND
FYI, for any adults/ scouts interested in Wilderness first aid, it will be available at the Jan Merit Badge Weekend event at additional cost

Boy Scout Troop 895 continues a 50 year tradition of guiding boys through the Scouting program for ages 11-18. We are a fun group with members from Falls Church City, Alexandria City, Arlington County, and Fairfax County, Virginia. Falls Church Presbyterian is our proud sponsoring organization, but like most troops, we welcome members regardless of religious faith.
