SATURDAY, January 24th - TROOP FAMILY SKI TRIP
Our Troop’s Annual Family Ski Trip will be on Saturday, January 24th, 2015. We will charter a bus that will leave early that morning, drive to Liberty Mountain Resort (about 90 minutes away) and return that night. Lessons are provided for those that rent equipment. We have a full-sized bus so family members are welcome to join us on the trip! This should be a lot of fun.
Please fill out both sides of the flyer for each participant as well as the release form, even if you are not renting equipment (just leave the equipment section blank). The release form serves as the liability release for the lift. NOTE: There are two signature blocks - 1 in the middle of the form and 1 at the bottom.
SCOUT PARENTS: SHARE YOUR EXPERTISE!
Troop 895 is putting together a list of skills, hobbies, education, and experience to assist our scouts when planning service projects or working on merit badges. We can always use knowledgeable experts to assist with technical details on service projects or assist current merit badge counselors. While many Eagle projects involve construction, others involve planning that often requires some advice or guidance from lawyers, accountants, doctors, dentists, auto mechanics, astronomers, geologists, IT specialists, communications practitioners, or people with lots of other skill sets. Merit badges cover almost all topics from astronomy to zoology (and yes, I know that the zoology merit badge was discontinued in 1972 but you get the point). The list of all current merit badges is available at http://www.scouting.org/meritbadges.aspx
Boy Scout Troop 895 continues a 50 year tradition of guiding boys through the Scouting program for ages 11-18. We are a fun group with members from Falls Church City, Alexandria City, Arlington County, and Fairfax County, Virginia. Falls Church Presbyterian is our proud sponsoring organization, but like most troops, we welcome members regardless of religious faith.
This website provides access to important information about the troop including the calendar, forms, and helpful websites. For members of the troop, there is additional information such as rosters and other private information.
